7 Points on Acupuncture for Optimal Health

Acupuncture for Optimal Health

Do you ever feel your life’s a crazy nonstop roller coaster ride? How many nights have left you sleepless and tired? How often do you truly take time for yourself? Do you have daily aches and pains? Are over-the-counter or prescription medications controlling your life? When was the last time you actually felt comfortable and relaxed? If any of these questions resonate with you, then it might be time to look at Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture for an answer. Acupuncture, as an alternative medicine, is growing in popularity in the United States and here are some reasons why you might want to try it yourself.

  1. Anxiety / Depression

Thousands of people in the U.S. struggle with depression and anxiety. And although there are many wonderful therapists available to talk to, psychotherapy may not be enough. Also, let’s not forget many of the prescription medications available carry potential side effects. This is where acupuncture and Chinese herbal formulas can offer an alternative approach.

Many Veterans and others, suffering with PTSD, anxiety and depression, find it difficult to talk about their challenges. With Acupuncture, you don’t have to talk to unravel these challenges. The needles do all the work stimulating the body’s natural abilities to heal.

  1. Insomnia / Restless Sleep

Acupuncture can address imbalances in your body that may contribute to your

inability to settle into a good night’s sleep. The needles can actually stimulate the brain through the nervous system to produce natural chemicals that help you more deeply relax and sleep better. If you have difficulty falling asleep, you toss and turn a lot, or wake up frequently acupuncture might just be the missing link.

  1. Migraines

For those who suffer from this debilitating pain, you just never know how your day is going to turn out. Migraines can come on without warning and can be completely devastating. And still, the pharmaceuticals that most migraine sufferers are prescribed can lead to harmful side effects. Acupuncture can reduce the frequency and intensity of migraines over time. Some patients experience immediate relief during acupuncture treatment – a definite go to remedy.

  1. Menstruation Issues

Many women suffer monthly from menstruation problems. Such challenges can include irregular, painful or heavy periods with chronic anemia and fatigue. There can also be mental-health concerns associated with periods such as depression and anger. Over-the-counter medications only hide the symptoms. To get to the root of the problem, consider acupuncture as a therapy. It’s all about balancing your body’s natural cycles. That’s how acupuncture works to regulate menstrual problems.

  1. Allergies

Nose dripping, sneezing, itchy, watery eyes – does this sound familiar?

Seasonal or otherwise, allergies can be draining. Allergies can be thought of as a hyperactive response showing imbalances in the immune system. Multiple studies have shown that allergy symptoms can be decreased and sometimes even eliminated with the use of regular acupuncture treatments. A comprehensive approach may be needed to detox the body and improve gut health but acupuncture can be helpful in stimulating and strengthening your body’s natural immune response.

  1. Chronic Pain

Pain is the number one reason why people turn to acupuncture, and for good reason. Many patients experience pain relief with acupuncture where other types of therapies have failed. If you’ve tried everything else and got little to no relief, why not give acupuncture a try. It’s important to note, chronic pain took time to develop and it could also take time for acupuncture treatments to bring long lasting relief. Many people get some relief immediately, but acupuncture works on a cumulative basis, so commitment to the process is a must.

  1. Preventive Medicine

Did you know that acupuncture’s main function is to help keep you healthy? If not, then you’re not alone. While acupuncture may not be known for preventive care, it should be. Waiting until there is an injury or illness will only cause the treatments to take longer. Using acupuncture proactively will help you fight off illness and let you recover more quickly. That’s reason enough to give it a try.

Acupuncture works! Try acupuncture for optimal health.
