How’s your SLEEP? Are you sleeping like a baby?
In my clinical practice I see many struggling with chronic issues and chasing branch-type symptoms but never addressing the root.
SLEEP is fundamental, like the foundation of a house – putting new paint on the house is not going to help if the foundation is poor. Improving sleep can resolve many chronic signs and symptoms. Whatever issues remain will give you more clarity to discover a more targeted treatment.
What’s typical: If you want to improve your sleep make sure you start with developing daily exercise and stress management routines. Can quiet the mental chatter? Perhaps you’ve mastered being highly active mentally and now you need to master quieting the mind – stress management, meditation – the thinking needs to be regulated and managed. The natural yin yang laws of balance requires activity and rest to complement each other. Too much or too little leads to imbalances. This includes physical and mental aspects – both require activity and rest.
Another tip: GO TO BED EARLIER / be in bed before midnight. Of course if you have irregular work schedules you will struggle with irregular sleep patterns. Regularity is key to optimal health. Go to bed at the same time and wake at the same time.
Bonus Tip: WHAT IF I CAN’T SLEEP? Stay in bed and allow the body to rest. It’s not as good as a nice, deep sleep but it’s better than continuing to unbalance the body with excess activity.
Sleep is so important for your health. Honor your health by honoring your sleep time and maybe you’ll be sleeping like a baby!
