Here’s some all Natural tips for seasonal allergies just in time!
It’s that time again – allergy season yuk! I see the pollen and dust flying everywhere. My nose is itchy just thinking about it as I write this post on natural tips for seasonal allergies. Check it out.
I got into practicing natural medicine partially because I struggled with allergies when I was younger. I came across a lot of helpful tips over the years and now I get to share them with you.
Something to understand with treating allergies is that you need to treat the branch and root for long term lasting results. A branch issue relates to treating the symptoms – itchy eyes, swollen eye lids, post nasal drip, running nose, sneezing and fatigue. Most treats address branch symptoms but never really get to the root of the problem.
The root identifies the root-cause of the condition. Often times people look to the outside for the cause but I find it has more to do with your body’s ability to clean out foreign invaders, dust and pollen.
The liver, kidney’s and colon are important detoxing organs systems in the body. These purification systems can be overwhelmed and stressed out by a variety of things. The main culprit is usually irregular eating habits and poor food choices that lacks good nutrition and clogs up the body with phlegm – particularly the throat and sinuses.
When I treat allergies I help people adjust their diet by identifying nutritionally depleted and congesting foods. Irregular eating habits are also a problem. It’s important to eat smaller meals every few hours regularly to maintain consistent energy levels. Carbs and sweets are a real problem and need to be limited or maybe even eliminated depending on how the severity of your symptoms. I also use a combination of acupuncture, herbs and whole food supplements depending on an individuals specific health issues.
The 21 day purification program is also an easy way to super charge these detoxing organs. It’s a proven way to clean out, purify the body and also lose a few unwanted pounds too! You can check out my free video that explains how it works to see if it’s right for you.
Toward the end of May and the beginning of August, here in Rhode Island, the Oak trees and other plants release incredible amounts of pollen that spreads out every where. My first tip, if you can, don’t open the windows in your house. It’s tough if you don’t have AC but if you let that pollen in to your house it will be impossible to clean. At least keep your bedroom isolated to prevent inhaling pollen and dust while you sleep.
The next tip is also helpful in improving air quality. Get yourself a good quality air filtering device that you can run in the house 24-7 especially during allergy season. Find a device with an easy-to-clean filter and keep it clean to optimize it’s filtering abilities.
Flushing out your sinuses is necessary at least once on a daily basis. Get yourself a large supply of saline solutions and flush your sinuses out until you feel it drain into your throat. Do it when you shower to make it easy and mess-free. Also always do it before you go to bed so your sinuses are as clear as can be. Washing your face and rinsing out your sinuses will help clear away those nasty irritants so you can breath better and enjoy a more restful and rejuvenating sleep.
For a powerful, off-the-shelf nasal cleanse go to your local pharmacy for ALkalol. Alkalol is a nasal wash (mucus solvent and cleaner). Mucus be gone! That stuff is awesome! It contains all natural ingredients such as Menthol, Eucalyptol, Camphor, Wintergreen Oil, Spearmint Oil, Pine Oil, and Cinnamon Oil – what a combination. Your sinuses will love you! :)
